Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 to a poor family with 12 kids later on, realized early that she could get away from her hardships through a creative mind. She was writing songs before she could read or write. Within 8 years she got her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. In the that same time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at the high school years, her dreams were bigger. The day she graduated the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She accepted her job in 1967. The year 1974 was the first that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's show because the success of her solo albums including Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" in support of Wagoner just after the pair split. The track was ranked number. In 1974, Parton's song"I Will Always Love You" climbed to No.
